Pitfalls of ineffective inventory management issues:

    1. Credits being processed without the parts been physically available
    2. Working capital invested on over inflated inventory vs slow moving and obsolete inventory
    3. Staff not following up on customers back orders on a weekly basis;
        contributes to incorrect stock and fill rates
    4. Parts given to customers without paper work been initiated upon point of sale
    5. Parts supplied to customers that are on stop credit
    6. Parts been taken out of kits and not quarantined and labelled with relevant information
        causing stock to be written off or customer receiving an incomplete kit
    7. Customer order fill rate failure due to lack of correct inventory management
    8. Increased freight costs due to incorrect stock mix and levels
    9. Loss sales due to no stock or incorrect stock
    10. Actual stock vs perceived stock i.e. shelf vs computer
    11. Pillage equals theft of goods; unfortunately this occurs and is a cost to factor in
    12. Unexplained loss or damage to goods and products
